SUMMARY:History Flight: Never Leave a Fallen Comrade Behind Location and Recovery of Missing World War II Air Crews
DESCRIPTION:History Flight is a privately operated\, 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization dedicated to researching and recovering downed American aircraft and repatriating the remains of the aircrews back to the United States of America. History Flight’s recovery efforts are focused on individuals who have been listed as Missing in Action (MIA) or deemed non-recoverable in WWII\, the Korean War\, the Cold War and the Vietnam War. \nCareer archaeologist Steve Cassells was part of a History Flight archaeology team that conducted the excavation of a suspected crash site of an American A-26B Invader in Germany in 2016. After a two-year research and recovery effort\, the team recovered the wreckage of the aircraft and the remains of the American airman who was piloting the aircraft. On January 21st\, Mr. Cassells will make a presentation on the A-26B recovery effort at the National Museum of World War II Aviation. He will also discuss two other History Flight projects that he was involved with. \nThe Museum will open at 10am and the presentation will begin at 11am. Standard admission prices will be in effect and will be no additional charge for the presentation. Parking is always free at the museum.
