DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, November 19th \nMuseum Opens at 10:00am     Presentation Starts at 11:00am \nRetired Air Force Colonel and fighter pilot Jim Moschgat will make a special presentation at the National Museum of World War II Aviation on Saturday\, November 19 at 11:00 am summarizing his years research on the first Army Air Forces Ace of World War II.  Lieutenant Boyd “Buzz” Wagner commanded the 17th Pursuit Squadron flying Curtiss P-40 Warhawks when the Japanese attacked the Philippines on December 8th\, 1941.  By December 18th\, just ten days into the battle\, Wagner had scored five aerial victories against Japanese fighters.  Moschgat will describe Wagner’s early life\, his heroic combat in the Philippines and later in New Guinea\, and his eventual death in early 1943 in an aircraft accident back in the U.S.  It was Moschgat who located the actual crash site and documented the details of Lieutenant Wagner’s last flight.  Don’t miss this interesting and informative presentation on one the unsung heroes of early WWII.
