The Aircraft Collection

The National Museum of World War II Aviation is home to 20 fully restored, flying World War II aircraft, and regularly welcomes other warbirds passing through on their way to airshows and events across the country. The collection also includes six additional flying aircraft from the pre-war and post-war eras, each one tied to the larger story of how aviation evolved during the Second World War.

Together with our extensive archives and artifacts, the museum’s aircraft collection tells the full story of America’s remarkable advancements in flight during the World War II era. Most of the collection can be seen on any given day, though a few aircraft may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance or touring commitments.
